The basics
What it is, who it’s for, and how it works.
What is Spanish Verb Master?
Spanish Verb Master is a focused practice app for Spanish verb conjugations. It’s built around spaced repetition and typing — so you train recall (not recognition) and stop re-drilling forms you already know.
It’s designed to be fast: open it, do a short session, and get on with your day.
How much content is included?
Currently
- 200 common verbs
- 17 tenses & moods (indicative, subjunctive, imperative)
- Region-matched pronouns (up to 6, depending on your region)
That’s up to ~20,000 possible cards in the full library — but you don’t study everything at once. You choose a small set of verbs and the app schedules what’s due.
The free tiers start with a small, high-frequency verb set. Plus unlocks the full library.
Can I choose which verbs, tenses, and pronouns I practice?
Yes. You control your practice without having to micromanage it.
- Verbs: build a small deck, add more when you’re ready.
- Tenses: focus on what you’re learning right now.
- Pronouns: your region automatically keeps things realistic (for example, hiding vosotros outside Spain).
Who is it for?
- Learners who already know some Spanish and want to stop guessing conjugations in real conversation.
- Students preparing for exams who need reliable, repeatable practice.
- People who like the efficiency of flashcards but don’t want to build decks.
If you want a full Spanish course with stories, games, and lots of new vocabulary, this is probably best as a companion tool — not a replacement.
Is this another streak / gamification app?
No. Spanish Verb Master is intentionally calm: no streak pressure, no hearts, no leagues, no “daily quests.”
The goal is a seamless loop: type → get feedback → move on. You practice because it works, not because the app nags you.
What makes it feel fast?
- Keyboard-first: type the answer and press Enter.
- Instant feedback: you see mistakes (including accent misses) as you type.
- Automatic scheduling: the app handles due dates, so you don’t manage “study plans” or re-order decks.
Regions & real-world Spanish
Practice what people actually say in your target region.
Which regions do you support?
You can choose a region (and change it anytime). Your region affects pronouns and certain region-specific forms — so you’re not training the “wrong” Spanish for your goals.
Common examples
- Spain: includes vosotros.
- Latin America: uses ustedes (not vosotros).
- Argentina: supports vos (voseo) instead of tú.
- Chile: avoids vosotros.
Note: Imperative forms never include yo in any region.
If I change regions, will I lose my cards or progress?
No — your progress stays intact. We retain your spaced-repetition history for all cards, for all regions.
When you switch regions, we simply change which cards are eligible to show up in practice to match real usage. Cards that don’t apply to your current region are hidden — not deleted — and their review history remains.
Example: Switch from Spain to Latin America and your vosotros cards disappear (you’ll practice ustedes instead). Switch back later and the vosotros cards return with their original due dates and history.
Can I study more than one region?
Yes. Some learners switch regions based on who they’re talking to (or what country they plan to travel to). Because we keep history for every card, switching doesn’t erase your work.
If you’re targeting two regions long-term, a simple approach is to pick one region as your “default,” then temporarily switch when you want to focus on the other.
Practice, scoring, and spaced repetition
The goal: spend time on what you’re about to forget.
How does practice work?
- Pick a small set of verbs (you can change it anytime).
- Type the conjugation the app prompts you for.
- When your answer is correct, press Enter to move on — the next review time is scheduled automatically.
Strong cards appear less often. Weak cards come back sooner. That’s the entire loop.
Do I have to grade myself?
No. Spanish Verb Master scores each review automatically based on how your attempt went.
- If you needed hints or revealed the answer, the card comes back sooner.
- If you typed cleanly (including accents), the card earns a longer gap.
- If you struggled — lots of corrections, missed accents, or heavy hint use — the app responds by bringing it back at the right time.
Under the hood, we convert that score into spaced-repetition scheduling so you can just keep practicing without fiddling with settings.
What about typos or missing accents?
You get instant, letter-by-letter feedback as you type. If you type hablo when the answer is habló, we flag the missing accent right away.
This helps you fix mistakes immediately — before they become habits — and it gives the scheduler a fair sense of how “easy” the card really was for you.
What spaced repetition system do you use?
We use a modern spaced-repetition algorithm (FSRS) to schedule reviews. The short version is: you practice cards right before you’re likely to forget them, and you stop wasting time on cards you already know.

See Terms for the full details.
Other common questions
What exactly is a “card”?
A card is one verb + tense + pronoun.
Example: hablar — present — nosotros is one card. hablar — preterite — nosotros is a different card.
Does it work on mobile? Is there an app?
Spanish Verb Master is a web app, so it works on modern mobile and desktop browsers.
If you create an account, your progress syncs across devices. In guest mode, progress stays on the device/browser you used.
Does it have audio?
Yes. During practice there’s a “listen” button that can read the conjugation out loud using your browser’s text-to-speech voice (if a Spanish voice is available on your device).
What data do you store?
We store the minimum needed to run the product: your account (if you create one) and your learning progress (deck selections and review history).
